Terms of Use
The terms for using our website and family portal.
Effective [date of publication]
These terms apply to kingdommethod.org and the Kingdom Montessori family portal, which are operated by [Kingdom Method, LLC — legal name to be confirmed] (“Kingdom,” “we,” “us”). By using the website or the portal, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Enrolling a child is governed by Kingdom’s enrollment agreement, tuition policy and family handbook. Those documents set tuition, deposits, refunds, withdrawal, and Kingdom’s policies on health, safety and pickup. If anything in these terms conflicts with your signed enrollment agreement, the enrollment agreement controls.
1. Who may use the portal
The family portal is for parents and legal guardians of Kingdom Montessori applicants and students, for people they invite with Kingdom’s approval, and for Kingdom staff. You must be at least 18 to create an account. You sign in with a ProSlot account, which is provided by ProSlot BOS LLC, the platform that runs our website and portal.
2. Your account
- Keep your sign-in private and tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Keep your family’s information accurate and current, especially emergency contacts, pickup authorizations and medical information. Kingdom relies on it to care for your child.
- You may add another parent or guardian to your household through the portal’s invitation. You may not share your own sign-in with anyone.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- access or try to access another family’s or child’s information;
- copy, share or post photos, names or information about other children or families that you see in the portal;
- submit information you know is false, or apply on behalf of a child you are not the parent or legal guardian of;
- interfere with, probe or overload the website or portal, or use automated tools to collect information from it; or
- use the portal to harass anyone or for any unlawful purpose.
Photos and updates in the portal are shared with your classroom’s families in trust. Please do not repost pictures of children other than your own.
4. Information and content you provide
You keep ownership of the information, documents and messages you give us. You allow Kingdom to use them only to operate the program and provide its services to your family, as described in our Privacy Policy. We will not use your family’s content for any other purpose.
5. Payments through the portal
Processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. By paying through the portal, you also agree to Stripe’s terms for the payment method you use.
Processing fees
Payments by credit card or bank account (ACH) include a processing fee that covers Kingdom’s cost of accepting that payment. The fee is shown as a separate line, together with the total you will pay, before you confirm. It is never more than Kingdom’s actual processing cost. Debit card payments are never charged a fee.
Automatic tuition payments
If you set up automatic payments, you authorize Kingdom Montessori to charge the card or debit the bank account you choose, on or after each tuition due date, for the monthly amount shown when you set it up. That amount is your child’s tuition for that month, less any discount, plus any processing fee for the method you chose. This authorization:
- continues each month until you cancel it, change your payment method, or your child’s enrollment ends;
- can be cancelled or changed at any time in the family portal, or by contacting Kingdom at least [3 business days] before the next payment date;
- covers new amounts if your tuition changes, as long as we email you the new amount and date at least 10 days before the first changed payment; and
- is given electronically, and you receive a receipt for every payment.
If you pay by bank account, you confirm that you are an authorized signer on it and that the bank debits comply with U.S. law. You may also dispute an unauthorized bank debit with your bank.
Failed or returned payments
If a payment fails or a bank debit is returned, we will tell you and may try the payment again. [A returned-payment fee of $___ and any late fee] apply as set out in the enrollment agreement.
Deposits, refunds and withdrawal
The enrollment deposit, whether it is refundable, tuition refunds and the notice required to withdraw are set by the enrollment agreement and tuition policy. The portal only processes those payments.
6. Kingdom’s content and the Montessori name
The website and portal, including text, photographs, logos and design, belong to Kingdom or its licensors. You may view and print them for your family’s own use. “Montessori” describes our educational approach.
7. Other websites and services
The website may link to services we do not control, such as social media. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
8. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the website and portal available and accurate, but they may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. If the portal is unavailable when something is due, contact Kingdom and we will help you another way. We may change or discontinue features, and we will tell families about changes that affect them.
9. Disclaimers
General information on the website, such as program descriptions and schedules, may change and is not an offer of enrollment. Enrollment is confirmed only by Kingdom. To the extent the law allows, the website and portal are provided “as is,” without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded under New York law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Kingdom is not liable for indirect or consequential losses that arise from using the website or portal. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under New York law, or Kingdom’s duties to your child under the enrollment agreement.
11. Suspending or closing access
We may suspend or close portal access that is misused or that puts children, families or the service at risk. When your child’s enrollment ends, your portal access may be limited to your records and receipts. You can close your account at any time by contacting us, subject to the records we must keep, as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, New York, unless your enrollment agreement provides otherwise.
13. Changes to these terms
We will post changes here with a new effective date and email families about any material change before it takes effect. Continuing to use the portal after that means you accept the updated terms.
14. Accessibility
We want our website and portal to be usable by everyone. If you have difficulty using any part of them, contact us and we will help you and work to fix the problem.
